They act like we are the ones disrupting the school environment,by wearing a simple tank top because it’s Florida and it’s hot outside. But the old creepy guy amaastrator having a problem with minors shoulders and belly buttons viewing them in a sexual way is what’s disrupting the school.in the article Girls against dress codes by lyn mikel brown states “Protests against dress codes get to the very heart of what it means to be an adolescent girl. It’s more than a generational claim to personal identity. Dress codes are a stand-in for all the ways girls feel objectified, sexualized, unheard, treated as second-class citizens by adults in authority.” it’s like what’s more distracting my shoulders? Or the fact that you pulled me out of class because I was wearing a tank top? Us girls are sick of boys blaming not being able to focus on us and what we are wearing. “A well-crafted policy makes boys accountable for their behavior. Girls want school dress codes that make it very clear they are not responsible for how boys view them and that their clothing choices are not responsible for boys’ inability to focus or learn.” (L.M brown)
