On May 1, 2025, the Okeechobee’s varsity softball team played an away game against Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs. The girls played hard and had a total of 13 hits. 8 of the hits were singles, 6 of them was doubles, and only 1 of the hits they had was a triple. This lead the girls to gaining 9 scores throughout the game. The final score was 9-3. Lily Larson had a pitch count of 106 pitches during this game. She held the other team to only having 6 hits throughout the game. “I always try to make it easier for my team when we are in the field. I try very hard to keep the other team from hitting the ball and getting on base, but when they do hit the ball I expect my team to have my back and try and get the runner out,” Lily Larson (11) said.
