The National Honors Society or (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. They do Backpack programs for 150 elementary students providing them with meals for the weekend during the school year. This club shows the kindness in people and how they care for other people. This club could benefit you in the long run because you will have the heart to help people and learn how to help them. The NHS Club meets once a month right after school. NHS club will also do community service to help out to clean the earth. All these activities that the NHS does, the money goes to charitable donations. “NHS demonstrates the importance and beauty in teamwork and interaction.” Joshua Viray 9th grade said. “NHS takes time and responsibility, so being a part of it gives you a chance to develop those skills.” Emily Hildebrand, 9th grade, said.
