Dual-Enrollment at OHS is a college program that counts as high school credits. Dual enrollment is an excellent opportunity to get high school credits while also getting college credits for free. To take dual enrollment your Gpa must be above 2.00 at the end of the 9 weeks and semester. There is a benefit of completion of a degree because if a person completes half of a degree the college will pay tuition for the rest of the degree. “I am taking dual enrollment because it will prepare me for college,” George Seca (10) said. For example, though they only let you get up to an associate’s degree in high school for free, if you get that degree they will pay your tuition for all bachelor’s classes. Taking dual enrollment will create more opportunities and further your education. “Dual enrollment is a great way to get college credits while in high school for free,” Logan Rucks (10) said. Unlike AP courses you do not have to pass the exam as long as your grade is above 70% after the exam. This program has a wide variety of classes including the basic classes English and literature, mathematics, history, science, physics, and design classes all can be taken through IRSC for no cost which can either be taken online or in-person. There are also summer courses which are faster. These classes though they are the same class, are much harder because all of the assignments are due much faster.
