Our mental health as students should be a very open topic, and people should genuinely care about how we feel and what’s going on inside our heads. Students were asked around school how does school affect your mental health? The student gave a genuine answer. “It kills it. I feel dead when I get home,” Justin Conti (11) said. Not only does school affect our mental health but so does being okay with ourselves. People tend to neglect their own happiness and put someone else’s before theirs. Always remember that it’s okay to focus on yourself once and while, and do good things for you. Remind yourself every day that you’re a beautiful person. Spread your love and kindness to everyone around you.

JOURNAL. Journaling can help with mental stress. It can help improve your mental health. It can also help you figure out how you feel. This would also be great for managing stress.

There are many factors contributing to mental health but today I have another one I would like to go over.  Friendships take a huge toll on our lives and how we feel. Students were asked how do you think friendships affects your mental health? they gave a very genuine answer “it can be good but also have a down side,” Ashton Nunez (11) said. Now that we see how friendships affect one person’s mental health, what are some ways we can work on improving this? Having genuine friends that care about you and your mental health is a big step. Caring about your own mental health is also a big step, but reaching out for help is probably the biggest one of them all.
