The Overview of the Team

The Okeechobee High School’s Varsity Volleyball Teams current overview for this year’s season

This month I’m going to be writing about our teams players, and their progress through this season. So far they have already played against eight different schools, and they have an upcoming game on Thursday, 10/14/21.

Last Saturday our school had an away game against the Harmony Longhorns, in Harmony FL. The game ended in Harmony winning with two and Okeechobee zero. They also had played two tournaments that day against, Trinity Christian Academy, and against the Viera Hawks. Our team has lost the last six games recently, but they have had a 11-9 overall win this year. We have 13 players on the varsity team this year, 5 seniors, 4 juniors, and 4 sophomores. When some of the teams players were interviewed, they were asked what was their most memorable sport moment, “when my travel team played the 2nd ranked team in the state this previous year” answered varsity player Joy Whipple. They were also asked what they enjoyed most about this sport and she said “The thing I like most about this sport is the quantity of teams and athletes. This sport has even given me the opportunity to compete in out of state tournaments and face hundreds of new teams.”
