English II is a challenging course to teach proper grammar and sentence structure. This course focuses on finding key points in books, reading materials, and grammar. This course has some required readings and some summer readings. For example in some classes, you might have to read a book with one thousand pages. In one such class for Makayla Davis, there is a requirement to read bullfinches mythology and make a presentation on at least one of the stories from the perspective of the character being written about. “What else did they use,” Ms. Davis (a teacher) said. There are also other books such as some books from Shakespeare such as Macbeth and hamlet which although do not have the first-person monologue, have other assignments. There are also checks on the reading of those books which can be multiple chapters at a time as well as some vocabulary from the book. “They make us do a catch-ya, “ George Seca (10) said. English II boosts reading proficiency and overall grammar structure for all students taking this course and it is required to graduate high school.
