Agriscience foundation is a class that prepares students who want to go into a field of agriculture or agricultural-related employment. This class will teach the difference between species of animals and crops that are common in agriculture. This course counts as a science credit and can help boost the total credits that a student has. This class teaches from farming necessities to soil erosion reduction. There are not many assignments for this class, but when there is a Kahoot. “Get your Chromebooks out we´re doing a Kahoot for the quiz,” Brittany Carrier (a teacher at the OHS Ag building) said. This class teaches a range of plant and animal species from the types of beef and dairy cattle to sheep and goat breeds. It teaches the plants used in agriculture and how they grow in different environments. “Dairy cows are for milk, beef cows are for beef, what are sheep for,” Brittany Carrier said. This class also teaches the history of agriculture from the invention of the steel plow to the introduction of mechanical reapers. This class is a necessity for any person going into agriculture.
