High school AP

AP is an acronym for Advanced Placement. It is a type of class for high school students which is harder than Honors or regular classes. In AP you are required to memorize more content while using that content in various assignments, such as quizzes, short responses, and tests. There is a test every year for these classes in which the knowledge learned throughout the year will be used in questions that can be multiple-choice, short response, and essay. “If I think you scored too high I will try to find errors,” Eddie Matchett, (A Teacher of AP history) said. These tests will decide if a student passes a class. There are some benefits to taking AP classes which include college credits, high school credits, and a higher understanding of topics. “AP students have to memorize their conversions,” Wendy Riester (a teacher of AP Chemistry) said. Some examples of these classes that can be taken at Okeechobee High School are  United States History, Psychology, Chemistry, and World History. These classes will not only count for a credit towards a high school diploma, but also count towards credits for a college degree.
