Mental Health Solutions
Students on every campus across the US battle with their mental health daily. It’s not something that should be taken lightly. Oftentimes no one knows how they feel and most times that can make you feel alone. Some students struggle with self-esteem issues. Students’ struggle with mental health is not something we should hide. We should in fact be open with it and help them. There are several ways that school is affecting students nationwide. ¨School is affecting my mental health by making me stressed and to help that I’m participating in activities that I love,¨ Monesha McDuffie (9) said. Participating in activities you love to do often distracts your mind away from the stressors of life. ¨School is making me depressed so maybe I should get some more sleep,¨ Jenaya Cason (12) said. A great way to combat the mental effects of school is to practice self care, here is a list of ways you can do that.
- Getting good amounts of sleep every night.
- Taking time for yourself every single day.
- Taking care of your body (working out, skincare, yoga, etc.).
- Journaling, or telling people how you feel, being open with your struggles.
