Do you love helping kids fight hunger and you are an Okeechobee High School student? Well then, this club is for you. What this club does is they help fight child hunger by doing a program called the backpack program. What they do in this club is they fill many backpacks full of food and goods then they give elementary students the backpack that is full of food and goods. NHS has helped a lot of elementary students fight childhood hunger. Without this club, many kids that don’t get fed a lot could possibly perish of starvation. “I love to stuff the backpack full of stuff then give it to the kids,” Sam Melear (12th) said. “I love hanging out with my friends and helping these kids out,” Joy Whipple (12th) said.
