Do you love to help kids fight hunger and you are an Okeechobee High School? Well then, the NHS club is for you. What this club does is that they do an event called the backpack program. What this is the NHS members fill a backpack full of food and goods and then they give the full backpack to an elementary student. This club is always helping out any way they can to help stop childhood hunger. With this club’s determination, they are helping to stop child hunger. “I love to help kids fight their hunger,” Sam Melear (12th) said. “Giving the kids a backpack full of goods is an awesome feeling,” Joy Whipple (12th) said.
