The Okeechobee High School Golf team played on the 23rd of August but lost to Lake Placid. The scores for this game were Lake Placid 162 – Okeechobee 252. Being the first match, the players were a bit nervous. “For some of us, this was the first golf match, so there was a bit of pressure on us,” Charles Van Eman (12) said. Their next game will be on September 8th. With the first match jitters over and more practice, the team looks to do better. “Since then we have been practicing three times a week and will be more prepared for our next match,” Van Eman said.
