Social Studies

What is Social Studies? Why do you need to be social about studies?

Jokes aside–social studies is a variety of things in this school. There’s US History, where you can learn the very roots that made the country we know as and live in today; such as colonization, the different colonies, and colonial life. You can also learn about the Declaration of Independence and how the U.S. separated from Britain, the battles of the Revolutionary War, the creation of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights–and the other things that founded and created the society we have today.

Another course is Multicultural Studies. In this course, you can know about the many immigrants that had come and still come to America, and the many factors of how America had become a massive melting pot full of diverse cultures. The last course I will mention is the Holocaust History Honors course. This course covers all that happened in World War II and Nazi Germany, as well as–if the name didn’t ring a bell–the Holocaust. There are many other different cultures that carry a social studies credit, so go and check them out if any interest you!
