This week’s featured app is Pinterest. Pinterest is a social network that allows users to visually share, and discover new interests by posting (known as ‘pinning’) images or videos to their own or others’ boards. This app can be very beneficial to a high school student. For example, if a student needs to complete a visual presentation board for a class they take, they can look up ideas for inspiration on Pinterest. If the student has any ideas of their own, they can share their creativity so others can get inspired by it. Pinterest has excellent and convenient features such as:
- Visual search feature to find and even buy specific items
- Moving pins between boards in batches
- Pinterest browser extension to save links to your boards
“I can use Pinterest to find better ways to take notes. I also use Pinterest to help with ideas for brainstorming projects,” Island Hebel-Hoover (10) said. Island is a prime example of how a high school student can use the social media app, “Pinterest,” to benefit and make their high school experience easier.
