This week in science we are learning about matter. Now matter is anything that can take up space and has mass. There are different states of matter such as solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. A solid is a state of matter that retains its shape and density when not confined. I think we should all know what a liquid is a water is a liquid, water is a liquid so is many other things. Gas is a sample of matter that conforms to the shape of a container in which it is held and acquires a uniform density inside the container, even in the presence of gravity and regardless of the amount of substance in the container. Plasma is a form of matter in which many of the electrons wander around freely among the nuclei of the atoms. Plasma has been called the fourth state of matter, the other three being solid, liquid and gas. Normally, the electrons in a solid, liquid, or gaseous sample of matter stay with the same atomic nucleus. Students rave about how amazing she teaches. “She’s a great teacher and teaches science very well,” Cameron Elliot(11) said. Mrs. Longberry is going over the changing states via melting, freezing, sublimation, deposition, evaporation, vaporization, and condensation. She will also be describing the composition of matter (pure substance or mixtures) and its physical and chemical properties.
