4-H is a U.S.-based network of youth organizations whose mission is “engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development”. It’s not just agriculture and animals, they have more to do like cooking and shooting sports! Today I talked to Ryleigh Carter about one of her hobbies, which is 4-H. She says that it is her 12th year doing 4-H and couldn’t think of a better way to spend her time. “To make the best better,” Carter (11) said. In 4-H she and lots of others use this quote it is the motto for 4-H, the meaning stretches past local concerns to make the world better for all. 4-H has a pledge: “My health to better living, for my Club, my Community, my Country and my World.” The 4-H pledge has taught thousands to use their head and not think of themselves as much as they should think of others.
