Phase changes are where matter changes from one state to another. The first stage within phase changes is solid. We all know what a solid is. To make a liquid you need to heat the solid. To make a gas you do practically the same thing. There are 5 stages in the phase change melting, freezing, sublimation, deposition, condensation, and vaporization.
