Cross Country Week 4

AVON PARK, Fla. (September 13,2022) – The Okeechobee girls and boys cross country team went to their 3rd meet. The boys ran a 5K and the girls ran a 3K this Tuesday afternoon. Frostproof High School located in FROSTPROOF, Fla. won 1st in the team standing for girls and boys, Okeechobee would place 3rd for the team overall in girls with a score of 59, and the boys placed 5th overall in teams for Okeechobee with 106. The girl’s times were Lindsey Saucedo who placed 3rd with a time of 22:39, Right behind her was Callie Phillips who would finish 9th with a time of 25:17, Carlie Eaton finished behind Callie with a time of 25:51 and placed 13th, Macie Gatliff followed behind with a time of 28:17 placing 19th, And at the end of the leaderboard for the girls, Shyla Aguirre finished with a time of 31:28 finishing 28th for the girls. The girl’s score was 59 placing 3rd overall in teams. The boys ran a 5k at AVON PARK, Fla., Leading the way for the boys was Wyatt Phillips who would finish in 9th out of 27 runners with a time of 19:52, Connor Rucks finished behind him in 19th with a time of 21:21, Reed Pung would finish right behind Connor with a time of 21:37 placing 23rd, And Randell Boyer finishing last in 27th with a time of 23:06. The boy’s team score was 106 ranking 5th overall at Avon Park. This meet has given runners some of their best times of this season. The boy runners were Wyatt Phillips with a time of 19:52, Randell Boyer with a time of 23:06, and Reed Pung with a time of 22:19. The girl runners who set their personal bests for this season during this meet was Macie Gatliff with a time of 28:23, Carlie Eaton with a time of 25:51, Callie Phillips with a time of 25:17, And Lindsey Saucedo with a time of 22:39. OHS XC will be heading to Lake Placid next on 9-20-22 for the fourth meet of their season.

OHS XC Team after the Avon Park Meet, Celebrating the girls 3rd place in team overall and the boys 5th place in team overall. This was an impactful meet due to the increase in personal bests and team placement.
