Cross Country runs into Week 5 after Hurricane Ian

LAKE PLACID, Fla. (Semptember 20, 2022) – Okeechobee High School’s Men and Womens Cross Country teams went to LAKE PLACID, Fla. last Tuesday at The Dragon Run, The womens team and mens team ran a 5k race this meet, The mens team ended up placing third out of six teams and Our womens team ended up placing second out of four teams. Lindsey Saucedo would end up leading the way for our girls with a time of 23:51.80 placing 4th out of 27 runners. Carlie Eaton finished close behind Lindsey with a time of 25:26.80 placing 6th, Leta Adamo finished behind Carlie with a time of 25:36.70 placing 7th, Macie Gatliff would be the next to finish with a time of 27:10.00 placing 12th, Shyla Aguirre would be the last to finish with a time of 28:25.50 placing 16th. Wyatt Phillips would lead the way for the boys finishing 3rd out of 46 runners with a time of 19:19.60, Enoch Busbin would be the next to finish with a time of 20:53.10 finishing 15th, Connor Rucks would follow right behind with a time of 20:58.10 placing 16th, Reed Pung would be the next to finish for our boys team with a time of 22:39.90 placing 26th, Randall Boyer would finish right behind Reed with a time of 22:45.90 placing 27th, Romin Rucks would be the last to finish for the boys team with a time of 23:27.10 placing 32nd. Big improvements have come from both the Girls and Boys Okeechobee High School Cross Country Team, Girls who set season bests (2022-2023) were, Leta Adamo with a time of 25:36.70 improving 1 minute and 17 seconds from the last meet, Shyla Aguirre also improved her season best with a time of 28:25.50 improving 3 minutes and 23 seconds from her last meet, Carlie Eaton has set a season best for herself with a time of 25:26.80 improving a slight 25 seconds, Macie Gatliff also set a season best this meet with a time of 27:10.00 improving 1 minute and 13 seconds from last meet. The boys also set some season bests this meet those boys are, Randall Boyer set his season best this meet with a time of 22:45.90 improving a slight 28 seconds from last meet, Enoch Busbin also set his season best with a time of 20:53.10 improving 2 minutes and 25 seconds since last meet, Wyatt Phillips had a slight improvement this meet with a time of 19:19.60 improving a slight 34 seconds, Connor Rucks set his season best this meet as well with a time of 20:58.10 improving a slight 23 seconds since last meet.

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. (September 24, 2022) – Okeechobee High School runners traveled to Rockledge, FL last saturday. The boys and girls both ran 5K’s again, The boys went unscored for an overall team score due to a shortage of boy runners and the girls scored 239 placing 8th out of 10 teams. Leading the way for the girls was Lindsey Saucedo with a time of 22:54.17 placing 35th out of 75 runners, Finishing after Lindsey was runner Callie Phillips who finished with a time of 23:49.34 placing 46th, Following right behind Callie was Carlie Eaton who finished with a time of 24:18.31 placing 50th, Leta Adamo finished off her day with a time of 25:21.42 placing 56th, Shyla Agguire followed behind Leta finishing with a time of 30:24.32 placing 72nd, The girls ended up with a score of 239. Wyatt Phillips led the way for the boys team finishing 44th out of 84 runners with a time of 19:29.91, Reed Pung finished after Wyatt with a time of 21:41.19 placing 68th, Randall Boyer was the last boy to finish for the OHS team with a time of 23:52.57 placing 77th.
