Start Fresh

There will be no school this Monday since we will be having a teacher work day.

This also means the start of the 2nd nine weeks. Time is going by quickly, do not hesitate in turning in work for your classes seniors, don’t let senioritis get to you, let this final year count. If you did not do so hot the previous nine weeks, don’t stress, we still have 3 more for you to do your absolute best in.

As we know, a hurricane recently hit close to us, students from the Heartland Education Consortium were affected and we want to give back with our “Fill the Bus” challenge. Our school will be trying to fill up at least 4 whole seats or even more of hurricane relief supplies and we need your help to make that possible.

We will be hosting the ASVAB soon, if you are interested do not forget to sign up. This test is an aptitude test that evaluates skills and interests for vocation/certification trades or for students who want to pursue a career in the military.

Marisol D- filling out ASVAB form
Student Marisol Denova types in her information so she can take the ASVAB during her study hall. She is signing up so she can have her skills and interests measured in vocation and certification trades.

“I think seniors should take it since it is their last year and could be beneficial regardless if they don’t need it but if they are thinking about purusing these trades or being in the military, it would be good to just have it done.

Marisol Denova (11) said when asked if she thinks seniors should take the ASVAB.

Both the “Fill the Bus” challenge flyer link and the link to sign up for the ASVAB will be found in this week’s brahman newsletter sent out by Lauren Myers.

Last but not least, this Friday the school will be hosting the 2nd annual IRSC Discovery Day. During history classes from 2nd to 5th, we will have the opportunity to explore programs that IRSC has to offer. They will have hands-on booths with programs such as academic and vocational.
