This week in Ms. Davis’s English the sophomores started a new book called “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. It is a dystopian book about a “more elite” society where humans are genetically bred to basically be perfect and have no emotions. “it’s an important topic to read about especially in these times when everyone wants to be efficient,” Chloe Wrobel(10) said. Mr. Sanders’s sophomore class is reading pieces written by Martin Luther King Jr. and learning about the efficacy of the Aristotelian appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos through them. The three appeals are a great way to break down documents and understand them better. Speaking of English, everyone is missing Mr. Talas. He was the film and English teacher for many years. “i feel bad for the sophomores that never got to have him as a teacher,” Aiden Scalf (11) said.
