This Monday the school choir went to the honor choir festival to sing with other choirs from different schools.
Our school choir was fortunate to have been selected for the honor choir festival. So they trained for several weeks on the songs they had to perform for this concert. The concert was divided into three parts: The first just with the tenors, the second just with the sopranos and altos, and the third all together. The tenors are those who sing lower, more serious, the altos “in the middle” and the sopranos higher, more acute. They didn’t all sing the same songs, the tenors performed “Dies Irea”, “Tell My Father” and “Sisi Ni Moja”. The altos and sopranos sang “Lux Aeterna”, “True Colors” and “How Can I Keep from Singing”. They left the school at 7:30 a.m. to go to the place where the festival wasand arrived around 9 a.m. and started rehearsals around 9:30 a.m. just after the presentations (of the project and the people they were going to work with during that day ). Then they went to eat before resuming rehearsals from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. then they had a break and got ready for the concert. They put on their concert outfit, black and white, the technical team checked all the lights and all the other details, techniques,… Once ready, the show could start at 7 p.m. and end around 8 p.m. , after that everyone went home, it was a nice but tiring day for all the members of the choir. ” Being at Honor Choir was great because we learned about new techniques and we were able to have fun with other people who share similar interest.” Diana Rodriguez (12th) said.
