Multicultural Studies About Blacks

Hello there. Welcome to another post where we look into the classes relating to the Social Studies subject and see what they’re up to. This week, the class we are focusing on is Multicultural Studies. Let’s dig in, shall we?

“This week in Multicultural Studies we are continuing the lessons about African American history of Unit 3,” Mr. Welch said, the teacher of this class. They are also looking into how certain barriers in society were broken with the efforts of African Americans, along with the many inventions created throughout history within the U.S. One of the figures that were mentioned was Charles S. Johnson, who was known for being the first black president of Fisk University and applying good research methodology and analysis in understanding African Americans.

These are notes of Charles S. Johnson. He is an important figure in this unit because he helped change the public’s perception of African Americans and how racism affects them.
