OHS Debate Team competed for the first time on October 15 at West Palm Beach. Grace Thomas placed 1st in Original Oratory. Ryleigh Carter placed 2nd in Original Oratory. Original Oratory requires students to research a topic, write a speech, and memorize the speech. Speeches should be 8-10 minutes. Other students participating were Argenis Alvarez, Luke Bessey, Colton Collins, and Annarose Hill. Our students were cunning, focused, and committed. Earned 2 of our students’ first and second-place medals. In our first tournament of the year, they are already taking the top 3 and we plan on taking more spots. It was a great start to our very first year. “We will continue to show Brahman Pride and represent our school in academia”.
