Donating blood at OHS

It is that time again, the donation bus to donate blood will come to OHS on November 9. As of right now, the slips will begin to be passed out during lunches, if you want to sign up. To donate blood you must be 16 years of age with parental consent. When signing up you can choose the time of the day you want to go get blood drawn. “From simple scrapes to learning hearts, HOSA’s where the healing starts,” said Jolina Moreno (12). Some facts about donating blood are that a single car accident victim can require about 100 pints of blood. One in three of us will need a blood transfusion. Platelets help stop bleeding in patients who have cardiac or transplant surgeries.
