On the date 10-03-2014, the United States rises from the ashes and begins anew, the incident of 9/11 was tragic for many as a large number of people in close proximity of the trade buildings were either injured or killed. A fatal number of 2,996 people were killed on the day of 9/11 which was labeled as a terrorist attack. The city decided to remember those who have fallen from this attack, they will replace the site with a new trade building, museums, parks, and a memorial site for the victims. The building that replaced the old trade center is described as “a symmetrical and more traditional tower that tapers into an octagon at its midway point and then back into a rectangular prism” (History.com). This beautiful display of architecture has 104 stories and a 360 degrees view of New York Harbor, Manhattan, Long Island, and New Jersey and symbolizes the 21st century and the rebirth of an event. The new Trade Center also consists of more offices, a police department, and a variety of other groups that relate to business and more. The police department section wanted to request a concrete base that held no windows to protect from future attacks but was declined as others saw it as an act of fear and terror.
“The new trade center is a beautiful building that really shines by today’s standards and that’s saying something,” Andee Garcia said.
