Biology is study of life

This week in biology we are learning about the molecules of life. The four main molecules of life are proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids. Carbohydrates store energy and form structures of living things. Proteins are the structures in living things, they speed up chemical reactions with enzymes, they transport things in and out of cells, and they help fight off sickness. Lipids are the storage of energy, thermal insulation to keep warm, and waterproof. Nucleic acids store genetic information. Without any of the four molecules we would not be alive. They are made of two or more atoms connected by chemical bonds.

“Macromolecules, the mighty four responsible for growth and survival,” Garth Striebel said.
