This week in history ( 8/28/23) there was a significant event that took place, this event happened to be what we know as the “I Have a Dream” speech. This event shook the entire world, because Martin Luther King Jr, influenced the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1968. When he did this the Federal government pushed more direct actions to develop racial equality. This helped us improve everywhere, even including our small little town, Okeechobee. “I believe that Martin Luther King Jr. really changed the world by changing people’s perspectives.” Cameron McDonald said.
