Draw My Reality

Jamie had her hands by her side and she was wearing a button-up shirt. She photo is not colored however it is shaded. Her hair was tied in two pony tails. She was smiling but not showing any teeth. — Jamie is an artist. She drew a self-portrait of when she was a little toddler.

Talent: Talent can be considered something an individual is really good at.

Current 11th grade artist, Jamie Noles, states that her talent is drawing. She likes to doodle in her books and do little sketches but she also does portraits and landscape drawings. Noles started drawing at the age of 4, however, she was inspired to continue by her cousin who drew a portrait for her at the age of 7. During third or fourth grade was when Noles started to take her talent seriously and that was because she had a friend named Kacy who was quite good at drawing and she wanted to become just as good or maybe even better. Drawing is the way Noles gets to escape from reality, release stress and express her emotions as she is someone who struggles with depression. “Drawing is my backrooms. I’ll fall into it and when I come out I’d feel so accomplished or terrified,” Jamie Noles said. Funny thing is, her family said that her sister was the artist of the family but now she’s better at art so that sticks it to them. Hah! With her talent, she has hopes of one day selling her drawings and advancing her skills so that her name will be a big thing among the art industry. To Noles, drawing is her passion and she certainly enjoys the feelings that come with it so hopefully sometime in the near future she is able to start pursuing her dreams.
