Students Want Longer Passing Periods

This week I went around and asked if students would like to have a longer lunch or longer passing periods. To my surprise, 51 out of 73 said that they would rather have longer passing periods. Most students are tardy to class because the passing periods are not long enough. From one end of the campus to the other, it’s cutting it real close to the bell. If a teacher needs to speak to you right after class for just a short period of time, you could end up being late by a second. If we were to have longer passing periods, the lockers would actually be of use. “I would rather have longer passing periods since I would be able to use the bathroom before class,” Yani Smith said. Longer passing periods would be a major benefit to the student body as a whole.
