Score That Goal

This is Brianna Serrano. She played soccer for about three years but will give up the sport in college.

talent: talent can be considered something an individual is really good at.

“I don’t think I’m that good. My teammates have never told me that and I’ve never asked them how they feel about my performance but it’s just a thought sometimes

Brianna Serrano, a current junior at Okeechobee High, started playing soccer in the 8th grade. It has now been about three years since she started playing as she is now in the 11th grade, and she has developed a talent and liking for the sport. Serrano started playing soccer because her older brother is also a soccer player and she used to watch his games. She got the opportunity to start playing because her community had a team that would play against other teams every now and again. Right now, Serrano plays defense for different teams every season. Her goal is to hopefully be a starting varsity and continue to do soccer throughout high school. However, Serrano tends to doubt herself a lot and underestimate her abilities, hence, she worries about actually getting that position. “I don’t think I’m that good. My teammates have never told me that and I’ve never asked them how they feel about my performance but it’s just a thought sometimes,” Brianna Serrano said. Also, despite that goal she hopes to achieve, after high school is completed Serrano sadly does not intend to continue the sport. Serrano prefers to give her full attention to her career choice (a vet or marine biologist) because she believes that is more beneficial to her. She claims that she may play outside leagues when she isn’t in college but that isn’t set in stone.
