Talent: Talent can be considered something an individual is really good at.
“To describe what acting means to me is kind of complicated but in simple terms, it’s an escape. It allows me to escape when life is hard, especially, as of recently.”
Bright Rathbun
Bright Rathbun is a seemingly timid 10th grader who attends Okeechobee High. Surprisingly, she claims that her talent is acting. Yes, acting! She started acting in August due to the fact that she was placed in the wrong class but she continued because she saw it as a way to get out of her shell and socialize. When Rathbun started acting, she was a natural at it and was good at memorizing her lines, however, her voice was very soft and that proved to be an obstacle for her. After a while of being in theatre and practicing for the ‘Alice In Wonderland’ play (in which she was casted in), she learnt how to project her voice more and be a bit louder. She hopes that in the near future she can master the concept of projecting her voice and hopefully get casted as Lydia in the upcoming play, ‘Beetlejuice’. Acting in simple terms is ‘an escape’ for Rathbun. “To describe what acting means to me is kind of complicated but in simple terms, it’s an escape. It allows me to escape when life is hard, especially as of recently,” said Bright Rathbun. In the long run, Rathbun does not exactly want to be an actress because she has her heart set on becoming an Animal Assisted Therapist but she would act part-time if she got the opportunity.
