On the 24th and 26th of October, there were basketball cheer tryouts. The girls were to learn a cheer, dance, and chant and then try out for a spot on this cheer team. The tryouts were in the school cafeteria from 3-5 p.m. There were so many girls that tried out that they had enough girls to make a Varisty and JV team as in previous years there was only a Varisty team in basketball cheer. Last week the girls had their first practices where they learned some new cheers. On Facebook, they posted the roster of who made the Varsity and JV teams. They had practice in the school cafeteria. The girls have expressed how excited they are for this new opportunity. “I am so excited for basketball cheer, it is a whole different environment then football cheer but I believe it will be just as fun,” Selina Boswell said.
