Today I interviewed Skylar Grimsley. He started debate in the beginning of the school year. He joined debate because his mom wanted him to do something outside of his comfort zone, so he joined debate. He does public Forum. Public Forum is a 2 on 2 debate, there is Crossfire between the first 2 speakers, then there is a Grand Crossfire which involves all four people. His favorite part of debate is NCDC which stands for National Civics and Debate Competition in Orlando. Thought debate he became more comfortable with speaking to people as compared to the beginning of the school year where he was much more anti-social. ”Debate became more of a home and I got closer with the members, like a family,” Skylar said.
