Percy Jackson and the Lighting Thief by Rick Riordan is the first in a multiverse of stories. This book follows 12-year-old Percy Jackson as he discovers he’s half-blood. We see him grow and learn to understand what it means to be a half-blood and the danger that comes with it. We see the friends he makes and the enemies he fights. He travels around the United States on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt and find his mother. Everything in this book leads to something greater in the rest of the series. “I recommend the whole Percy Jackson-like saga to anyone who hasn’t read it yet, it’s just one of those staples when it comes to books. It’s great for all ages and a fun read. I also think it’s a good idea for anyone who has read it to just revisit it, since there is like the new show, and it’d be good to get a refresher on the book.”, fellow brahman Vayda Maselli said. So, head down to the Okeechobee High School library and step into the world of Percy Jackson!
