Brahmans Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

This week in history happens to be Cinco de Mayo. Which is also known as the fifth of May, is a celebration commemorating the Mexican army’s victory over France on May 5, 1862. The battle lasted from daybreak to early evening, and when the French finally retreated they had lost nearly 500 soldiers. Fewer than 100 Mexicans had been killed in the clash. At the Battle of Puebla, which took place during the Franco-Mexican War. It’s also known as Battle of Puebla Day, and it falls on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage in the United States, especially in cities with significant Mexican American populations, even though it is a relatively insignificant festival in Mexico. “Cinco de Mayo is an important celebration because it shows that even after something awful like war, people can come together and celebrate,” Alana Moore said.
