Debate club is a place where students have the opportunity to express their opinions to others without any conflicts. It helps those who feel that their feelings and opinions are not important to put them into play. Not only can they express their feelings, but they can also listen to others’ feelings and potentially come to an agreement. It’s not just in Okeechobee High School; it’s in other schools and places beyond Okeechobee itself. The debate club also helps other debate clubs to show them how to express their opinions effectively. It provides a safe space to express your opinions, and if you enjoy debating, maybe you should join the debate club. However, the Debate club is not the only safe place for students; there’s also the Interact club. This club gives students an opportunity to work together in a fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding. It can also help with future plans and it looks good on college applications. The club’s goal is to encourage students and foster the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of youth united in the ideal of service. It also brings students together to develop leadership while discovering the power of service Above Self.
