I’ve been talking about the debate and their current activities, the Debate Team has been going to both Middle Schools, and they’ve been supporting them in their Debate Team. “Members of the OHS debate team visited YMS to help students prepare for their first tournament. This helps students understand the topic and research.” Hollie Adams said. These students from the Debate Team go to the middle school, to teach and help the students understand how to compete in the Debate meeting or run a debate meeting. When the Debate Team has meetings themselves, they include the middle schoolers. They teach and show how to run and conduct a meeting, how it should go, what topics, and what notes they should take for important content, and what they need to do to start and close the official meeting. Teaching them how to speak properly in a meeting, what to say, and how to move your opinion property. Also teaching them the roles in a meeting, and how to properly be assigned and run their positions. This will better prepare them for the upcoming tournament, and their future meetings.
