LaFlam is spending time with her husband watching a baseball game at a baseball stadium. She went and watched this game with her husband because she and her husband enjoy watching baseball and it’s important because this is something LaFlam loves to do.
In this picture is Courtney LaFlam the teacher I interviewed for this post with her husband at a baseball game. Throughout this week I interviewed my Advancement Via Individual Determination 2 (AVID) LaFlam about how it is and many questions about teaching at our high school. First I asked LaFlam what made her want to pursue her career as a high school teacher “ It’s been something I’ve always wanted to do and help kids get through some hard years of their life.” (LaFlam). So from hearing LaFlam tell me that I thought it was amazing and it sounds like she enjoys her job very much. Also, there was one other question that I asked Laflam for this interview: what made you want to be an AVID teacher and why at Okeechobee High School “ Because I want to be able to prepare students for when they become young adults and to help them know and figure out what their plans are after high school and be prepared and show them techniques that can help them get into their dream college or any college and tell them everything at college and I chose this high school just because I lived here for most of my life and also my husband works here.” (LaFlam). So from that answer, I think it’s amazing what she does as a teacher and how she helps kids and helps them with their future and to have a better one. Also as a student of LaFlam, she helps me with more knowledge about what I will need and what colleges look for in people to join their schools and many things that in college will help me get to the degree or degrees I need for whatever career I choose to pursue. Lastly to conclude from all this LaFlam enjoyed her job and all the aspects that come with it and just loves helping students be prepared later in life and have better futures.
