Work While In High School To Get Money

This is Snell's favorite area to work at in Publix.
This is Snell’s favorite area to work at in Publix.

Keira Snell works at Publix throughout the week. She works there as much as she can because money matters very much to her.

To start off with the person I interviewed this week who has a job or jobs while attending high school is Kiera Snell (10), who attends high school and works throughout the week. Also from the start of my interview with Snell, I could already tell she really was into working and getting money so she could buy what she wanted when she wanted without needing her parents. So to get started what I asked Snell in the interview was what made her want to get a job while attending high school and how she managed her time with it all. “I wanted to get a job while in high school because I want to be able to buy stuff with my own money and not have to rely on my parents and it’s honestly really easy to manage everything like I just go to school during the day and go to work at night and get my homework done when I get home or at school, Snell said. From hearing that response from Snell I thought it really made sense and that’s a really common answer and understandable response and reasoning why. Now, to move on to the second question I asked Snell if she enjoys working where she works and if she ever loses interest in her job or gets bored. “I have a love-and-hate relationship with my job I love it because of the money and my friends work there also but I get tired of doing the same things over and over and want to do different things and not the same stuff over and over,” Snell said. And to me that response was very straightforward and I get it as someone who works as well that it can get boring at times and you feel like you’re repeating things over and over but it’s still worth it in the long run. Now to wrap everything up and conclude this I think it is an amazing opportunity and preparation for high schoolers later in their lives!!
