This is in preparation for the Expo, as I know it is not until after the summer. The Sponsorships have been a tossup recently, but of course. Always including our beloved SWAT team, not the police force. I mean our Tobacco Free Partnership, if you haven’t read up on them. Go read my past posts, but back to the point. The sponsorship of our Back To School Expo has been consistent with our recent years, consisting of the businesses in our town. This year will be our 7th in a row. This event is meant to supply essential school supplies, pencils, hand held sharpeners, erasers and so on. It is also to help any child who may be new, or struggling to feel a sense of community in order to help them prepare for success.

“Despite all the education and statistics available on the potential health issues that are associated with use of tobacco products, middle school and high school students continue to begin use of these products at an alarming rate. The examples set by peers are one of the most effective at redirecting students from starting use of an addictive product that could have lasting long-term health effects by setting and modeling examples of healthy behaviors and alternatives to tobacco use such as participating in sports or being active in community organizations. The best discouragement to prevent tobacco use is to speak to someone who is experiencing those long term health effects.” Eden Hornung Said.
