Background:
Samantha Szentmartoni is a Biology teacher here at OHS, but why is she a teacher? “I felt that when I had a major life change in college that I was called to help teenagers the way I wish someone would’ve helped see me,” said Szentmartoni. She enjoys teaching in Okeechobee, as it is where she grew up, where she feels she understands her students, and where she would like to raise her family. She enjoys the black and white of chemistry, as well as the grey area from her other course; explaining she enjoys the mixture and broadness from one to the other.
Advice:
Her advice that she wishes to pass down to students and people in general is to look very critically and carefully at how you define success and what actually matters to your own person.
Fun Facts:
She is terrified of sharks.
She will never eat olives under any circumstances.
She would be a flamingo or blue whale if she were an animal.
Besides teaching, two dream jobs she has is being a stay at home mom homeschool teacher, or working with NGO’s overseas to help teach girls to support themselves and their families both environmentally and economically.
Flamingo stares at its own reflection and ponders of life.
This is relevent due to Szentmartoni having to deal with her own thoughts and feelings in college when having a major life change which inevitably led her to where she is now.
